Local Living is a Company Limited by Guarantee which operates as a business and aims to make a profit. However, as Local Living is a social enterprise, any profits made will not be distributed to shareholders (there aren't any) but will be reinvested in the company to bring about more jobs and more economic opportunities.

Local Living is about bringing benefits to all the residents of North Northumberland by the development of local work and the local economy.

At present activities include:

• Revitalising the markets in Alnwick Market Place in partnership with Alnwick Community Development Trust.

• Exploring opportunities for collaboration in the promotion of local, fairtrade and organic food, drink, arts & crafts in the Berwick & Alnwick Districts.

There are currently 5 directors on the board: Philip Angier (Chair), Ian Brown, Kathryn Potts, Andrea Perrett and Paddy Conway.

Membership of Local Living is open to anyone with a passion for North Northumberland who supports the purpose and principles of the organisation.

• Come to events including General Meetings.

• Seek to use your connections to help create ideas and solve problems.
