- The main beneficiaries of all projects undertaken by Local Living should comprise of all or part of the current residents and ex-residents of North Northumberland
- The character and uniqueness of North Northumberland, including the high quality of life, work/life balance and landscapes should be celebrated, respected and encouraged.
- Money coming into the area should circulate and be retained locally
- Solutions to local economic barriers should be sought locally, nationally and internationally and where appropriate, innovative new methods should be experimented with in order to fulfil the Objects.
- We value local identities and local solutions, believing there is always more than one solution to any issue.
- We aim to learn from the past but design for the future
- Production and consumption of local foods should be encouraged
- Environmental sustainability should be striven for and negative ecological and environmental impact minimised
- Projects which benefit the residents of North Northumberland should not be restricted by the geographical boundaries of the area.
- Partnerships and links with private enterprises, public sector and voluntary and community sector should be encouraged to fulfil the Objects
- Local Living must retain its independence and should work toward financial sustainability
